ah~ Japan... ah~ Christians....

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/17/world/asia/17japan.html

Japan has been going down for 20 years or so... and Korea is a lot like Japan in
many aspects... Europe and U.S. also have their own financial and economic problems.
China looks prospering now, but it's not so much different from other neighbors.

sometimes i am worried about our future where there is no hope... it's been a while
since the last time the whole world got in a big trouble like WWII.  if this economic
issues keep going negatively for a while, we don't know what's going to happen to us.
people are not holy, smart or kind in nature. once they get hungry for whatever it is,
(it could be food, it could be power or anything) they can get crazy enough to make
stupid decisions like a war. then we are going to have to suffer such terrible times
no matter how badly we try to avoid... it's not that far from now when millions of people
died in wars. then, probably, ph.d. degree is not so much worth or helpful. the current
social system will break down. and everybody will act just like an animal following
their sinful desires... the first power (physical power) will dominate the world again.

all the christians will have to suffer for not following the animal desire but to follow
their christian faith or principles... it could be exactly the same as the situation described
in 2 Timothy, where Paul said about the gloomy and troublesome future ahead of us.

Maranatha! Maranatha! Amen, Lord Jesus, Come!!! Soon!!!

how much money to donate?

“He advised Hopkins that if he wanted to become familiar with the nature of Christian
belief, to begin by giving alms and giving to the point of personal inconvenience, so that
something that you wanted to do, you wouldn’t be able to do because you had given goods
to the poor,” Mr. Anderson said. “It’s not giving to the point of utter impoverishment, but
it’s not just giving pocket change either.”

i think this is a pretty fine answer: "to the point of personal inconvenience"
